Top-level cricketers often find themselves away from home for long periods of time, either playing internationally, competing in the top franchise tournaments around the globe or with regular away fixtures in the domestic game.
It can be difficult to handle, the amount of upheaval and unfamiliarity which lasts for their entire career. So how do they cope with that churn mentally?
On a recent day out at Delta Hotels by Marriott Worsley Park Country Club, 4CAST member JCC put that question to his cricketing colleagues Ben Stokes, Jason Roy and Matty Potts.
"That’s why gaming is so good," Jason said. "You stick your headset on for three hours and you literally escape from everything and whatever."
The escapism of gaming allows them to disconnect from the outside noise, but Jason was keen to stress that no two players are alike when it comes to dealing with the demands of the game.
"Everyone is each to their own," he added. "A lot of boys will just go hard at training, go for a run..."
"You love that, don't you? That's your way of coping," he said, directing the question to Matty.
"I go with physical, yeah," the younger cricketer said. "And then golf, golf with the lads, turn your phone off, and just get away from that and just escape reality and just be with the lads. They're like a family away from home."
